Hire an offshore video editor
We recruit full-time video editors in Sri Lanka and the Philippines who turn your raw footage into reels, YouTube videos, ads, webinars and training content. They work only for your business, to your brand and your publishing schedule.
Quick answer
How much does an offshore video editor cost?
A full-time offshore video editor costs a monthly salary plus our fee. Salaries typically run A$800–1,500 a month in Sri Lanka and A$1,400–2,300 in the Philippines. Our fee is $5,999 + GST once, or $1,000 a month with no upfront fee. Hiring takes 3–4 weeks. Motion graphics skills earn the most.
What the role covers
Your footage edited and published, every week
Most businesses film more than they ever publish. A dedicated editor clears the backlog and keeps a steady flow of finished video going out, while you stay in charge of the message and sign off before anything goes live.
Short-form social video
Cut reels, shorts and TikToks from longer footage with captions, hooks and your brand style.
YouTube and long-form
Edit interviews, podcasts and explainers with B-roll, graphics, sound clean-up and chapters.
Video ads
Produce ad variations in each format and length your campaigns need, ready to test.
Webinars and training
Turn recordings into tidy training modules, course lessons and highlight clips.
Motion graphics and titles
Build intros, lower thirds, animated text and simple explainer animations.
Asset management
Keep footage, music licences, templates and exports organised in your shared drive.
How we screen
What we test before you see a shortlist
Every candidate has phone and video interviews with our recruiters and a skills assessment set for your role. For a video editor that covers:
- A timed edit from sample raw footage, judged on pacing, story and sound
- A portfolio review: finished work they can show and explain, including the raw material they started with
- Captioning, aspect ratios and platform specs for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn
- Written English for captions and on-screen text
Tools

Video Editor FAQ
Common questions

Do we need to film the content ourselves?
Yes. The editor works remotely, so you or a local videographer film the footage and upload it to a shared drive. Many businesses film a month of content in one session and let the editor work through it.
How many videos can one editor produce?
It depends on the format. As a guide, an editor can turn around several short reels a day, or one or two longer YouTube or webinar edits a week. Set the mix in your brief.
How do large video files get to them?
Through a shared drive such as Google Drive, Dropbox or Frame.io. A good internet connection is part of our screening, and big projects can use proxy files.
Who owns the music and footage?
You do. Use stock and music libraries licensed to your business, not to the editor, so your rights continue if they leave.
How is this different from a graphic designer?
A graphic designer creates still images: social tiles, brochures and brand assets. A video editor works with footage, sound and motion. Some editors also design thumbnails, but hire a designer if most of your work is static.
How much does it cost in total?
Add the monthly salary to our fee. Ready for You is $5,999 + GST once, then $0 a month if you employ them or $350 a month if we employ them as Employer of Record. Managed for You is $1,000 a month on a 12-month commitment with no recruitment fee. IT options are extra and quoted with your role.
